Tudor’s Spurs Travel to Fulham Desperate for First Premier League Win of 2026

By Footbalio

Igor Tudor takes Tottenham Hotspur to Craven Cottage on Sunday, March 1, knowing only a win will begin to ease one of the most alarming relegation crises in the club’s recent history.

Spurs are ranked 16 th in the premier league table having only 29 points -four points above the relegation area. In 2026 they have not even won one league match.

The nine games that it did not win (four ties, five losses) speak their own ugly tale. When Thomas Frank stepped down and Tudor became interim head coach, the club was meant to experience a turnaround. So far, it has not.

The fact that in his first match he lost to Arsenal 4-1 at home was an ill omen. Spurs performed well in the first half but totally failed after the commencement of the second half. The issues as some have suggested are much bigger than a manager change can address in a short period.

Tudor makes It a Question of Life and Death.

The Croatian coach has shunned not the seriousness of the situation. Prior to the Fulham game, Tudor referred to the task as a matter of life and death in sporting terms the most difficult of any managerial career involving stints at Juventus, Lazio and Marseille.

What he has told the squad has been direct and straightforward. Fight for every point. Be pragmatic. Give more effort than the competition. Win dirty if you have to.

We must have the mentality of a small team at the moment, Tudor said.

The above quote summarises the change of mindset that he is requiring. It is not the attractive football playing. It is about survival.
Tudor has also publicly declared that he is 100 percent sure that Spurs would still be a premier league club next season.

That confidence matters. A team that is under pressure must have faith in something.

Injury Crisis Relaxing Before Craven Cottage Trip.

A bit of optimism before the Sunday game: Spurs are receiving bodies back. Defender Pedro Porro comes back following injury. Kevin Danso who has hardly appeared since he joined is at hand. Micky van de Ven has an insignificant finger problem but he should play.

During this season, Spurs lost nine first-team players at a given time. Such a damage on the squad makes the high-pressing style employed by Tudor virtually impossible to effect in a proper way. Fit players will provide him with more choices, despite the fact that overall depth of the squad might be a problem.

A probable formation would be Spurs 3-4-2-1; Vicario; Danso, Van de Ven, and Danso, as the back three; Porro, Spence as wing-backs; Palhinha, Gallagher, as midfielders; Sarr or Simons as striker. The attack is headed by Solanke or Kolo Muani.

Fulham in Good Shape, and Have Spurs Number.

Fulham come to this match in a much better condition. The team of Marco Silva is ranked around the ninth in the table having 37 points. This London derby came after a 3-1 outburst at Sunderland that ended a three match losing streak, and has given them confidence back.

The Cottagers also have the upper hand in terms of head-to-head record. Fulham have won four and drawn the past six matches between these two sides.

They had defeated Spurs 2-1 at the Tottenham hotspur stadium earlier this season, a fact that still hurts the north London club.
Neither are Fulham lacking their own motivation.

They are only three points out of the European spots. Even securing a spot in the Conference League, perhaps as far as the seventh place is a viable goal. The team of Silva has a lot to gamble with.

A Deciding Time of Tudor and Spurs.

This match is of great importance to both clubs though on different grounds. In the case of Fulham, it is a chance to be forced back into European competition.

In the case of Spurs, it is more of a must-win one, an opportunity to put an end to the spurt of bleeding and provide the rescue mission of Tudor with something to work on.

Future matches with other struggling teams such as Crystal Palace also provide Spurs with additional chances to win. However, the games will be quite different in case Tudor will get his first win in the Premiership on Sunday.

The match (Kick-off) at Craven Cottage starts 2:00 PM GMT on March 1, 2026. Everyone will be watching whether or not Tudor can devise a means of ending the winless streak of Spurs the crisis or the crisis worsens even more.
