Kylian Mbappe was nowhere a good player. He was in the wrong position several times, flunked a great opportunity in the box, and was evidently frustrated. It was one of the nights that the French superstar will soon forget.
The last ray of hope to the hosts was Vinicius Junior. He was unpredictable, had a number of fouls and put the keeper to the test a few times. But the crucial contribution never came.
Towards the end of the match, Madrid believed that they had been cheated out of a penalty. Full time Coach Alvaro Arbeloa was enraged.
It is a fine, here, and on the moon. No one knows.
The referee and VAR were at variance. The draw stood.

Madrid is losing its league, yet there is still a chance that Madrid will not die out in Europe. Los Blancos visit Bayern Munich on Wednesday to play the second leg of the quarter final in the champions league and they are one goal behind 2-1 in the first leg.
And that is where the season of Madrid has now really come. The city of Munich would at least be giving the club a reason to fight back as the domestic campaign draws to an end.
In the case of La Liga, time is running out. Three games without a win. Already one game played and six points off the top. The mathematics is inexorable.
Real Madrid require an almost flawless streak of performances. They must have Barcelona fall. And they must find the clinical, regular appearance with which they have not appeared in weeks.
